USAG Champions: Dreamcatcher, a bag of Cheetos, and a dream
In an age when most people are bombarded by social networks, smartphone notifications, and online digital trading cards, it’s refreshing to know that there’s still one man with the cajones to sign off. “There’s no room in these daisy dukes for an iphone, man. Just my junk and a CB radio.”
With fingers stained orange from his trademark on-stage bag of Cheetos, Dreamcatcher plucked his way into a once unprecedented triple round air-off against ROMEO DANCECHEETAH at the 2010 US Championships in New York City. Dreamcatcher, representing his native Denver, Colorado, was narrowly defeated that night by the 2010 World Champion, Romeo DanceCheetah.
Belched from Dreamcatcher’s only Twitter posting way back in 2006, “Cheetohs? I don’t need need 140 characters to spell delicious.”
Each trading card celebrates like never before the pillars of US Air Guitar – those members of the competitive air guitar community who have lifted the sport out of the bedroom, onto the stage, and now into the basement beside water-damaged sets of Magic the Gathering and d20 dice.
These limited edition jpegs come in two sets: CHAMPIONS (Tuesdays) and LEGENDS (Thursdays), featuring rankings and expert analysis on everything from competitor agility to homoeroticity.
Boundless gratitude to LT. FACEMELTER (Jason Farnan) for the graphical mastery behind each and every card).
